    FEM DOPHILUS worked for me….

    I’m 22 years old and have had BV for 6 months. I would go to the doctor and get antibiotics then the symptoms would be back within a week. It got to the point that the antibiotics were making me sick. The 5th time I took them, I got diarrhea (sorry for the overshare) and headaches. Adding insult to injury, after that last round of flagyl, I tested positive for not only BV but also a yeast infection.

    I was pretty much at a breaking point. The symptoms were so bad I had to wear pantyliners everyday because of the discharge. I was uncomfortable all the time and pretty much stopped dating. I tried everything – hydrogen peroxide, apple cider vinegar, proviodine medicated douche, folic acid supplements, probiotics (the regular kind from target and the refrigerated kind from a health foods store)… nothing worked. I pretty much felt like I would have it for life.

    Finally I read about a probiotic called Femdophilus. I’ve been taking 2 a day orally (1 in the morning and 1 at night) and inserting 1 as a vaginal suppository in the afternoon. In addition, I mixed the powder from 3 capsules with plain organic soy yogurt (the less sugar, the better) into a medicine dropper and have been inserting that vaginally every night. (You can find femdophilus, a large tub of plain organic yogurt, and $2 medicine droppers at whole foods). This is my 3rd day doing this and my symptoms are virtually gone. No more discharge, except for some of the pill suppository leaking out. The smell is almost gone, and I haven’t noticed any itching or discomfort at all.

    I read that most probiotics have the kind of good bacteria naturally found in your intestines… so whether you take them orally or vaginally it doesn’t end up doing much for your vaginal flora. Fem dophilus only uses lactobacillus rhamnosus and lactobacillus reuteri, the 2 good bacteria found naturally in the vagina. So it restores your flora much more effectively. I plan on doing my treatment plan for 2 weeks, then taking the pills orally to maintain my balance. I’m going to start buying femdophilus from iherb.com – it’s cheaper than whole foods and they send it to you packed in ice.

      I had 2 bv infections in one month they prescribed me antibiotics both times. I just bought fem dophilus today. I am praying this works. Me and my boyfriends sex life sux right now and im very depressed about this. Thank god he is a great man and understands what us women go threw. But i would like to know are u still bv free? And how long should i be using it vaginally? i hope u get this, i need to hear something positive. Help!

    My grandmom took me to the health store on Monday, it is now Thursday. The man who ran the store pulled out Fem-Dophilus from the fridge and told me that is the best thing he has to treat BV. I was excited to know there was a cure besides antibiotics. It has only been 3 days and I am almost certain I am over the BV!!! Wow, what a great product, only 3 days. I have been taking 1 capsule per day orally. Today, the 3rd day, I took 2 capsules orally just to knock out the last bit of BV that might be hanging around. I can’t believe how well this pill works. I recommend it to everyone.
